— Work / Södra Cell Mönsterås

A year inside Södra Cell Mönsterås.

Twelve months embedded at Södra's pulp mill in Mönsterås: a new control system programmed for the TM5 baling line, plus drives, optimization, and punch-list work across the two TM4 lines.

Embedded
Scope
New TM5 control system; drives, optimization & punch lists on TM4
Location
Mönsterås, Sweden
Duration
Twelve months
01 / The setting

The lines have to run. Steadily.

Baling is the last step in a pulp mill. Finished pulp is pressed, wrapped, and stacked into bales, then loaded for shipment. When a baling line stops, the disruption travels upstream.

02 / The work

Embedded in the mill's own organisation.

The TM5 line got a new control system, programmed on site against real production. On the two TM4 lines the work was the kind that makes plants run steadily: programming drives and conveyors, optimizing operation, closing out punch lists, and hunting down bugs and faults, alongside the operators and technicians who run the lines every day.

03 / The result

Carried forward by the mill's own team.

Higher production capacity and steadier operation. The systems were built to be maintained in-house, not handed over as a black box.

Embedded is one of three ways to work with the studio.
